  Notes	Atwood attended Colby College 1859-1861. Civil War veteran - 3rd ME Regt. He was captured at Bull Run and spent 11 months in Libby Prison. After the war he studied at Harvard and graduated from Maine Medical School at Bowdoin where he received the degree of M. D. He practiced medicine in the area - from 1866 to his death- in 1883 in China, Buckfield and Waterville.
