Notes:

John was a Harvard graduate and later graduated from Medical College at Castleton, Vermont. He is later years taught anatomy at the University of Michigan. John gave service as assistant surgeon of the Second Main Regt. Civil War 7th ME Infantry. In 1872 he went west to Jackson, Michigan. This is next to a town with the name Albion, Michigan. John and Feroline are in 1900 census of Jackson. Carrie Brooks is wife acc. to cemetery record. There is a marriage for John Mains to Ferdine M.Williams 3 Mar 1858 in So. Thomaston, ME in IGI.
